Life progesses, as time and tide waits for no James.

Time for update, long due in fact.

Tragically I only have 15 minutes before lunch is over so I'll have to make it quick.

I've been proceeding as per usual, except I've cut down the number of Cam games I go to. I haven't really got into my new C/A character, so that's probably the reason, that and my garou doesn't like to stray too far from home too often now he's Alpha, my Sabbat character is waiting for the clarion call to say yes lets go and kill things, it looks like he's not going to get the call.

SWG is the biggest time sink and I don't care, I'm as addicted as you can get and I don't want to quit.

My house move has a fairly sizable legal complication due to the driveway not being legally attached to the house so I wouldn't own it, nor necessarily have rights to use it. If this can be sorted I can buy the house. I don't like to think about what happens if it can't be sorted, this is causing a lot of stress, due in part to the people around me applying pressure (no one on my friends list at time of writing I hasten to add).

The runnymon weekend was actually rather good, if very tiring. Sabbat seemed non-eventful but I didn't mind, mainly because I had an "interesting" pregame. I even got a deal from someone I'm meant to kill, we'll see if my character can figure out a way to stich him up without fluffing it too badly.
Garou was great, although several people suffered in different ways to get the one-off outdoors location. Morris really struggles with leadership, mainly because I do. I need to prod people to tell me more of what needs sorting. I also need to do my downtime earlier I think. I need to mail people about stuff I need doing too, as well as finding out where I've put my renown log.
C/A, my second game as ADST, I began feeling very helpless as I ran a feeding pregame for Sean and ended up being very wooly about it, hopefully I came up with enough angst for his High Humanity. Later on in game I wibbled a bit about not knowing anything when players came to ask me, I was told not to worry about it as consulting with the lead ST ([livejournal.com profile] thankyoukindly), is normal behaviour, the problem is clearly finding a balance between getting things accurate and not bothering the other STs whilst they run scenes. I guess I'll improve as things progress. Can one be sacked from such a position I wonder?
Mage and my second game as DC and I had things much more sorted, although the players still can't cue for toffee and things like finding a 2 pound coin on the table and not knowing who's it belongs to is deeply annoying.

So today I'm back a work and ready for another week, but I need a holiday and I'm waiting until my house move before I can get said holiday, not knowing when something is going to arrive is one of the things that I hate - like waiting for buses or trains when there's no display board to tell you, if you know how long you've got its much more acceptable.

I think that's about it, how are you?

You'll figure out the leadership stuff, its just of case of making a descion, usually the wrong one, then demanding everyone do it, and most of the time (unless you have an Elder who thinks he's a god, or similarly Res) everyone will do what you say, because 90% of people dont want to think for themselves, then a few die, and you figure out what your suppose to be doing and go and do it, and if anyone challenges your word, either beat them up (IC unless there really annoying and you have lots of friends around) or declare a time of war =)

As for the ADST stuff that comes from experience and knowing the plot, which you wont most of the time, so figure out the rules call stuff and point them in the direction of the DST when they want plot, oh and you get to play the gooby NPC's too, something which runnymede has plenty of.

[identity profile] molez.livejournal.com 2004-09-06 07:20 am (UTC)(link)
we don't have gooby NPCs.....

[identity profile] anysbryd.livejournal.com 2004-09-06 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry.

"oh and you get to play god like NPC's who know everything about the players, and scare the hell out of them, to the point that some PC's will run with terror when they see you coming, wether your IC or not. which is always fun."

Is that better?

[identity profile] molez.livejournal.com 2004-09-06 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
yeah that's better ;)

I think the problem is Runnymede has NPCs that are long term.. so have to be able to survive 4 players wanting to take them on... Also, if they ave 37 mental traits then they should act like it! :)

[identity profile] portilis.livejournal.com 2004-09-06 08:04 am (UTC)(link)
37 mentals is nigh on impossible...

Even the demons in Runnymede shouldn't be pulling that - it's on par with Kupala, who's pretty much the most powerful earthbound around...

Only person I know of around who comes close is Q's 30 traits, which is scary enough!

Also, bear in mind that someone that intelligent will do actions which *seem* stupid to the characters, in the same way that if a newbie watches a world class chess match they often will be unable to understand why the master has made the move he has.

I was deliberately picking an arbitrary number!

[identity profile] portilis.livejournal.com 2004-09-06 08:27 am (UTC)(link)
with you, I'm never quite sure :P

You like your cheese as much as I do!

[identity profile] molez.livejournal.com 2004-09-06 08:42 am (UTC)(link)
*shrug* thing is, if your going to have Decent villans in a game as developed as Runnymede CA where you have some really gross PCs, you do need some good Uber villans that can pull strings in the background.

[identity profile] satyrica.livejournal.com 2004-09-06 09:06 am (UTC)(link)
Runnymede CA where you have some really gross PCs

I'd kinda got the impression that compared to most domains we didn't . . . but maybe that just shows what I know ;-)

[identity profile] anonymous-james.livejournal.com 2004-09-06 09:45 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think you can talk. *gives Neil a knowing look* ;)

[identity profile] satyrica.livejournal.com 2004-09-06 11:34 am (UTC)(link)
hmph! for a four year-old PC Brujah, Dr. J is pretty damned restrained in the grossness stakes . . .

[identity profile] anonymous-james.livejournal.com 2004-09-07 09:58 am (UTC)(link)
You might think that, but I couldn't possibly comment :D

[identity profile] blue-cat.livejournal.com 2004-09-06 08:50 am (UTC)(link)
Agree with the leadership stuff :) In an odd way Savage Heart is much happier not being leader! She had to go for it, and couldn't give it up, and will challenge you if you arn't doing it right... but want it... ? Nah! You do come across as very diffident IC.

As for SWG *shudder* addiction is the right word - Rancor hunt last night went on for about 4 hours, oh and I got killed twice by nightsisters !!! Thanks to Leemeg I didn't 'die'die. but had some issues with my loosing too much mind or being too full to drink more brandy and hence use whizzy stuff and hence get loads of xp. and yes, she has an LJ - I think you know her name! (with an underscore between).

As for the last bit - not knowing - I HATE that! I would almost rather have bad news than not know. At least then you can act on (or ignore) the information.

[identity profile] anonymous-james.livejournal.com 2004-09-06 09:38 am (UTC)(link)
She does? I didn't know. I'm not sure I know her name either. In fact amusingly [livejournal.com profile] charliemouse and I were discussing her on Sunday, neither of us were really sure whether she was a she or a he, I think I'd got confused, I think charliemouse was right and that she gave away too many clues of being female than male. So yes what IS her LJ?

[identity profile] blue-cat.livejournal.com 2004-09-07 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
i hope you are refering to SWG, and as for the LJ, I was refering to MY character [livejournal.com profile] fuyo_yanagi not to Leemeg (re-reading it I am not sure this was clear).

Leemeg I think is female but I tend to say her & she if talking about Leemeg and he and him if about Lerko - both being run by the same person.

[identity profile] anonymous-james.livejournal.com 2004-09-07 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Ahhhh I see what you mean.

I had thought that Leemeg / Lerko had an LJ and that it was obvious to you that She was indeed female.

[identity profile] molez.livejournal.com 2004-09-16 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
you had any more news about your house move? Hope things are moving on....

[identity profile] anonymous-james.livejournal.com 2004-09-16 09:06 am (UTC)(link)
ahh dammit I forgot to call the solicitors today. I'll have to do it tomorrow.
